Take it slow. Don't make a quantum leap. If you don't walk, don't try to climb Mount Whitney (in California), but don't let your limitations keep you from trying something new, either.

California is full of adventurous activities like hiking, biking and camping. The National Park System is another great provider of adventure activities.
